Who was Jesus?

Judaism and Christianity both agree that Jesus existed. Jews and Christians would, however completely differ on who Jesus was.

Christians believe that Jesus was the son of God and our resurrected savior.

Matthew 3:16-17 talks about what God said about Jesus:

“As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Matthew 3:16-17

Judaism has a different view of who Jesus was. A Jewish rabbi who talked to said this about who Jesus was:

“Everything that Jesus said was in the ballpark of Pharisaic Judaism at the time. He disputes the Pharisees, but he was one of the Pharisees. Pharisees argued.”

Jewish Rabbi

So who was Jesus? A Pharisee or the son of God?

I personally think that Jesus was much to radicle to be a mere pharisee. He claimed to be God. He forgave sins. He did things that no Pharisee would ever dare to do.

So what do you think?
