We all know the stereotypical appearance of Jesus at the time of a renaissance. At a time when a majority of Christians were white, they wanted Jesus to be like them so they made him white in their artwork.

But no, Jesus wasn’t white. That’s common sense. There is no physical description of Jesus in the Bible, but we can guess on what he looked like based on geography.

Jesus was from the Middle East, so he most likely looked Middle Eastern. Here is a photo of an interesting computer model that shows what he could have looked like.

The bigger debate is the question of why many churches have Jesus looking white, still. But that is a video for another day.
