If you are looking for evidence about Jesus, look no farther than Isaiah 53. This passage is a prophecy about Jesus that was written hundreds of years before Jesus ever existed.

Here is Isaiah 53:5-6

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all”.

Isaiah 53:5-6

Isn’t this project amazing? This is Jesus’ death and what it means for us being described, centuries before his existence.

Jews, however, do not believe that this prophecy was about a Messiah at all.

A Jewish Rabbi said about Isaiah 53,

“(The) Jewish people would say there is a different way to understand the passage. The suffering servant is a metaphor, just like the prodigal son … In the case of Isaiah, Isaiah is talking about the Jewish people as the suffering servant.”

This explanation does not make a lot of sense because Isaiah 53:5 sounds an awful lot like a story about crucifixion. Additionally, the verse is completely accurate to the story of Jesus.
