We often hear that God loves us, but why would he love us? God is an all powerful, infinitely strong being. He doesn’t need us, so why would he love me and you?

It all starts with what God has done for us. Mankind choose to sin and to be separated from God, but God choose not to turn away from us, but to save us, by sending his son Jesus to die for us.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

God has chosen us for redemption from our sins and all we need to do is accept Jesus into our lives. Christ choose us in our weakness. You don’t have to be perfect to be a part of God’s family, you can be weak and be in him.

We are not disqualified from God’s love because of our sins. The true gospel is this: That Jesus died for us and accounts for our sins.

Matthew says this:

Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

Why does God love us? Because we are his creation, and in his eyes, we were worth redeeming.
